Hi how is everyone?? I'm finally doing a post after such a long time. So firstly lemme greet everyone with a happy 2012. 2011 was an awesome gaming year with honorable mentions such as tales of xillia. And of course let us not forget about the awesome console that has been released which is the 3DS and the upcoming one which is a PSP VITA..

Todays topic is on persona playing styles but i'll also a little shameless advertising which is my atelier project on youtube. I'm trying to post more gameplay vids and staring off simple would be Atelier Iris 2.. Ill post more when exams are over.. Shameless advertising

Next up our main topic for the day Persona playing styles.. I'll touch basically on persona 3 and 4

Oh side note again PERSONA 4 THE GOLDEN ON VITA WOO HOO...

So like *cough cough* Persona 3 and 4 is what we now call the turning point for persona games. Introducing a new element to the turned based world of JRPGS. In persona 3 (P3P at least) and persona 4 has this feature now called direct commands instead of asking your characters to do what they feel in the original p3 which some might say its a huge improvement. However i will praise that system to be genius and realistic. The fact that your able to decide only your own decisions and let others decide from themselves gives u the frustration and rush u need when ur in a pinch like for example (SHIT IM LOW ON HEALTH) YUKIKO I NEED A DIARAMA!! *yukiko uses AGI* RAWRS WHY YUKIKO WHY?? LOL

With the direct command function we are able to avoid all these situations. And hence i realized when i was playing my friends persona 4 data today.. Everyone has different persona play styles

For example my friend decided to used stock personas. Using them with mostly their original abilities with not much modification. Relying more on strength and less on healing or support. He was also not an item type user which i think was very bold.Honestly i am impressed that with such a method he can play persona very well.

I'm sure all of you have your own persona playing methods but today i am here to share my method.

Tatsuya's persona gameplay style

team consist of 1 mage 1 attacker 1 both 1 healer

Main character jack of all trades has everything

I like to think of my protagonist as a the synergist/saboteur

Then when he is done he would attack with either magic or physical skills

never a healer as its not worth it(unless the situation calls)

first move : matarukaja/marakukaja

buff it up or debuff the boss

Then go straight for the kill for max damage :D

Dream team for persona 3 : MC, Aigis, Yukari, Mitsure

Dream team for persona 4 : MC,Yosuke,Naoto, Yukiko

Basically this method makes sure u have enough stats to make up for the insane hp

persona bosses have and kill them efficiently

Its a pretty strategic/safe and common tactic but with this you would make through hard mode

PERSONA 2 INNOCENT SIN

Hey guys fadedsoul here with awesome news to share. Persona 2 innocent sin which has revamped for the psp is going to be localized.. OH-YEAH!! For persona fans like me this is the day that we have been waiting for :D

So why am i excited you may ask well let me take u back to 2000 when persona 2 was first released in the US for the PS1 console. It went under the name of persona 2 eternal punishment.

The ps1 game :D

Persona 2 eternal punishment wasn't really that well received during that time cause the more popular rpgs were e.g Final fantasy 9 during that year.But for those who played it felt that it was missing a part and that was because "eternal punishment" was only part of 2 games. "Innocent sin" was its counter part.(Or in japan persona 2 tsumi)

Apparently "innocent sin" came out first before "eternal punishment" in japan. So at that time we didn't know were were only playing part of it. I think maybe those who had the old atlus newsletter may have heard of it but it never came to light.

So for the first time "innocent sin" is finally coming out in english.. You have no idea how amazing this game is. If you have ever played persona 3 or 4.. BWAHAHAHAH they have nothing on "innocent sin". The story is complex, the battles are intense and i love the characters in the game. Everyone of them has their own unique personality and it ties in with the game very well as the story goes on.

The gameplay in both the persona 2 games IS("innocent sin") and EP("eternal punishment")

play pretty much the same. Both game uses the same type of battle system only that they have different storylines.The battle system in the game goes a little something like u input a preset of commands in the command box and then press battle. The characters will then keep doing the commands until u ask them to change commands or u win the battle.

It may sound boring but when the battle starts flowing its like watching an epic persona battle in real time :D

Music in the game is also awesome.. Oh and for the remake shoji meguro composed again which means eargasm. Its just hard to imagine a persona game without him these days since he sorta set the standard for shin megami tensei games in terms of music.

I dunno about you but watching these openings make me hyped. I love both versions the ps1 and psp version :D

So as you can see persona 2 innocent sin is more than just another persona game. I WILL DO MY IMPRESSION ON THE JAPANESE VERSION AHAH so stay tuned..

Kingdom hearts birth by sleep review

Kingdom hearts birth by sleep.. ahh a game to be truly remembered and might i say one of the best PSP game to have ever been made (although i am quite biased when it comes to kingdom hearts) Kingdom hearts birth by sleep takes place 10 years before the original kingdom hearts. Before Sora ever wielded the keyblade and how the events of the present day in kingdom hearts came to be.. this is very interesting as we have never seen how the world really came to its state of chaos as it is now.. personally i think this is an excellent fan service and a good prequel :D. The story does make sense by the way. It is not some mashed up story for square enix to make money.. Now onwards to the review

On starting up the game you are treated to once again a very beautiful version of simple & clean/hikari.. officially this is the third game they used this song on.. being kh1 the first, kh re com 2nd and kh BBS the third... Im a big fan of this song and it is definitely well known as the kingdom hearts theme but my first complaint is i think that they could have started with a different song.. being this events happened ten years ago.. kingdom hearts 2 had sanctuary/passion which was actually a nice change. I would like to see a new song personally

Now on to the game itself.. u will start of as Ventus or Ven(picture above) and then later you will be able to choose between ven terra and aqua. Firstly you will definitely realize that he looks like Roxas from kh2 but do not mistaken it for him :) After a few cutscenes u will be able to walk around and control Ven..

Now for the controls, the psp analog stick is good so no complaints... but the first thing that you all will most probably realize is the command system.. thats right.. for those of you who played the original kingdom hearts it has been revamped.. no more scrolling down to magic or what so ever.. now u just scroll down using the d-pad what ability you want and it will be activated with the triangle button.. might sound hard as both the d-pad and analog is at the same side but once u get used to it.. its easy.. Plus the commands automatically shift to the next one once ur done with the previous one so it ain't that tedious.. kinda like the card system in kingdom hearts COM..

For the visuals in the game.. The first world that you enter, OMG you will be amazed at the graphics that the psp can handle :D In my opinion its above the ps1 era but slightly below the ps2 era. The world is detailed even with the lack of space.. You will encounter that the exploring the worlds are limited but never unsatisfying.. for example here is an excellent trailer to show its potential

From the trailer u must have realized we now have newer modes to enter.. Such as "fire storm" or "critical impact". This replaces the drive system that was implemented in Kh2.. Now in order to activate the system we have to input certain commands in like for example "Fire Storm". Doing a fire based attack will activate it by chance..

Battles in the game are nothing short of spectacular. U get to fight memorable disney villians such as hook and also participate in my personal favorite.. Keyblade battles. I enjoy these keyblade fights in BBS because the battle involve dodging,blocking and sometimes even a crazy maneuver to get behind an enemy and slash em behind. If u were disspointed by the button mashing in kh 2 u will definitely be amazed by the battles in BBS.

Lastly for the Music portion of the game.I have nothing much to say other than EPIC.. the music as usual does not disappoint anyone. Kingdom hearts composer Yoko shinomura did an excellent job in composing music for the new game. I believe the epic parts are epic and the emotional parts are emotional. Be prepared for some awesome boss music

So final verdict... To buy or not

BUY DUHH!!! Costing most prob only at 40-50SGD brand new you are able to experience a minimum of a 30 hrs of adventure on your psp. :D I say this is definitely one of the better square enix games and that we should support the franchise that we all know and love.. KINGDOM HEARTS

Harvest moon friends of mineral town.. Originally a ps1 game which was made into a gameboy advance port.. I enjoyed the gameboy advance port more sadly than the PS1... cause well maybe i believed it was supposed to be played on the go instead of just sitting at home in front of your TV...and yes i know its been ages since i did my last blog post.. Its after school hours and i wanted to contribute to my gameblog even if it just one tiny little post..

Now about harvest moon.. Some of you may think that it is boring and even a stupid concept.. basically your just this guy who happened to inherit a farm which some old guy left you.. according to the story.. you met this old man when you were young and now your old enough and the old man is dead you inherit this awesome farm??(lols)

so im sure your wondering.. what awesome farm monsters your gonna fight in this cute little town called mineral town.. the answer.. fucking nothing at all.. LOL... nice right??? im sure you were expecting some epic rpg rant from me.. haha.. well for your information harvest moon has been classified as an rpg game so it is not off topic

So ok back to the point.. in harvest moon you inherit the farm from the old man.. your objective.. to live your life as a farmer.. Now its not as boring as you think it is because it is actually damn fun... lemme explain further... First of all you start off in a small house with little income at all.. your farm sucks with no crops and u have live off items found in the forest... In this game you make money by selling stuff such as herbs and berries... even minerals from the mines.. like copper etc etc... when u have enough income u can use your farm tools to start building your farm and planting the crops... when u have enough money you can buy some animals and of course upgrade your house... after that you can GET MARRIED....

yes the most epic thing that we all love about this game is the part about getting married.. im serious... everyone likes having relationships right.. so this could be your 101 love game... haha.. well to get married is a different story though.. you have to win the girls heart and lemme tell u it aint that easy.. you can get her gifts but if she does not like it.. you are fucked.. i mean really.. she will mock and insult you to the MAX... and yupp you get to choose which girl you wanna marry.. from the spunky type of girl to the innocent type of girl.. haha

Doesn't it sound fun to you now??? i mean the concept is simple but it is really fun.. i recommend you give it a try now on your pc gba emulator if u have the chance... :D...

Persona 3 impressions

Persona.. the Italian word derived from Latin meaning mask...If you know me.. Persona is definately one of my favourite Rpgs in my lifetime.. I started by buying the popular ps2 game persona 3.. Persona 3 really wowed me when i first bought the game... It came in a deluxe box artbook,soundtrack and the game itself included.. But i bet your wondering what made me buy the game...

One word and that is = MUSIC

Lemme take you back to the year of 2007... Nearing the end of the school term.. I recall that i scored quite well for my examinations that time and i wanted to buy a ps2 game to celebrate the occasion..during that time i finished a couple of Ps2 games such as kingdom hearts 2 and i was getting bored of it.. so here i was going to gamespot.com to check out the latest ps2 releases.. and there it was persona 3.. damn and to be honest the music really captivated me.. I don't usually read the reviews so i watched the first battle video.. and there it was mass destruction...the music that decided it all.. I swear i didn't even watch the summoning part...

On that day went to the store itself and bought me persona 3 at 90SGD..The priced killed me

but when i got home.. HOT DANG... it was a game i loved.. The opening scene burn my dread caused me a lot of thinking.. Like hmm so what does this symbolise.. Then when the game started.. ZOMG was it depressing... blood everywhere.. but still i played through the game.. The music seriously awesome.. graphics wise.. I was quite happy with it.. for a ps2 game i couldn't really expect much..

So moving forward... the school.. i admit.. i really really didn't expect this at all.. Last thing i expected was the will to go to school.. Once again the school music really captivated me.. It felt like high school all over again and I was having term break... The socializing thing really made the game different from other Rpgs.. It was different yet.. in a good way..I mean hey how many rpgs do you get to choose the girl you wanna date??

Battle system.. Omg it was a bit troublesome at first.. I couldn't get use to the tactical commands and such but as time went on.. it got easy and i was able to understand how it works.. And the way they summoned their persona's made the battles more interesting.....Suicide never gets old

Seriously bottom line.. persona 3 made a good impression on me.. The story may have been repetitive with the training but i have no doubt.. hardcore rpg fans would love the mix between school and danger.. It is so awesome...

the mood was from AWESOME-->WEIRD-->MYSTERIOUS-->AMAZED-->AWESOME AGAIN..

Ahh yes.. RPG romance.. in my opinion its the thing that makes rpgs beautiful..its the typical story of how boy meets girl.. goes on an adventure and somehow one way or another they fall in love.. I have no problem with this..its just that i wish life was that simple.. haha.. well okay... here's my rant...

well if u look at an rpg the guy does little to no effort in attracting the girl.. I mean look at Cloud.He disses Aeris off all the time and somehow they are in love(or so the story made that impression).. I mean if im comparing romance novels and rpgs.. the only thing thats missing is the development.. whats up with that?? Really i mean another example.Final fantasy X.. Yuna just said.. "the wind is nice" and they started laughing.. what is wrong with the developers.. really.. I mean the last time i tried that move it was like this

The wind is OUCH MY FUCKING EYE... see what i mean.. its not that simple.. staring at the wind too much causes your eye to get hit by flying mini sized objects.. dum dum dum.. but nevertheless it makes rpgs fun to play and watch.. I prefer rpgs who let you choose the girls you want to be with such as Ar tonelico.. It's cool when u get your pick.. haha

ok thats all i gotta say for today.. next up.. i dunno.. i'm having troubles of my own.. school is starting soon but i'll keep posting.. and yes its gonna be more entertaining than this SHORT shit..

Now here's a big question.. WHY AREN'T THERE ANY GAME COMMERCIALS IN SINGAPORE??.. i mean sure.. we can get them off the net and maybe even watch it live online...But still i really don't get why singapore does not have any game commercials.. Is it because watching game commercials is bad for the society???Ahh.. its so frustrating.. i mean imagine this.. u heard this cool new game came out but u have no idea whether u will like it or not... your internet is busted and you only have the tv... suddenly the commercial comes on and your like WOW THIS GAME IS COOL... that could be your deciding factor.. and of course game commercials would make TV much more exciting.. I'm gonna share one of my favorite commercials...when i watch it i feel that.. hey i want to get all these games...

In case your wondering these commercials are for the popular tales series.. their rpgs are awesome and you should definitely try it at least once...

Ps2 game collecting

Hi...Today I'm going to talk about ps2 games.. My favorite console up till now.. It owns both my xbox and my ps3.. Naturally i would collect tons of games for it and up to date i have around 60 of them...Sadly though today i realized that i missed out on a lot of cool game sets.. Such as the .hack GU collectors edition and Mana khemia premium box set in japan... My main goal is to collect every single rpg for the ps2.. And i have collected most of the greatest hits.. such as xenosaga and Persona series... So today while i was browsing to see how many ps2 games there are up to date apparently as at January 2010 there are at least 4512 Games for the ps2.. And I'm like wow that's a lot.. sadly though i was unable to find a complete ps2 rpg list.. however i was able to find this list which i will leave out below and according to that they have about a total of 134 rpg games released for the US.. apparently this list is not updated so some titles are missing meaning there are more than 134 rpgs released in the US..

So yeah i have a long way to go for my ps2 collection.. Just wanted to share with you guys a ps2 rpg game list since i'm gonna talk a lot about rpgs.. well stay tuned...

New game stuff (part 2) + game guide rant

Hey guys welcome to part 2 of my new game stuff..Now part of my jackpot is that i received 3 game guides from the guy for free.. I got game guides for FF9 X and X-2... and seriously it was cool.. But i have problems with game guides.. I mean seriously the people who publish game guides are just milking money out of noob gamers who don't know that guides can be found on the web..Good websites such as gamefaqs.com.. I mean sure their good for collectors but from these game guides i'll show u the pros and cons of game guides...

For the first book im gonna look at the FF9 guide book

Well this book is only useful if u got stuck in one of the puzzles and want to see all of the character abilities

This is a good example.. I don't know if u can see it but this is a very detailed explanation on which weapon gives the characters a certain ability.. Now this is good

I also like how there is a checklist on what you should get when u enter a new place...

Bestiary of the cards.. One problem.. They dun tell you where to get them.. So ya you can look at all the cards but no specific way to tell u where to get them

For the worse part of the guidebook.. OMG the boss fight

That is it.. battle strategies and poof.. thats all.. what kind of help is that?? and even worse..
Do u see the blue box on the right?? It says log in to playonline.com for more info..
Seriously.... to see the full strategy i have to use the internet??ughh...

Ok up next FFX guide book.. Now this book.. I love it... very good book..

Now check this out another good example of a character guide.. It shows you the sphere grid..
where is tidus's area.. how to get the overdrives.. usually they always get this part right

For the boss fight..

Now this is what i call a strategy guide.. Look at it... all the info you need to fight the boss..
The quest are also very detailed so you can be sure not to miss anything out from the game
But what really makes me happy about this book is that it shows some of the artwork for some of the backgrounds in the game

I seriously love this guide book.. It even has a blitzball section.. Shows u how to get this skill and all that

Lemme just tell u first..This book is ESSENTIAL IF U WANT 100%( sometimes online guides are not that detailed)... If u just want to complete the game.. You dun have to buy it... personally i think this book was really made to milk money..
But i'm not saying its a bad book..

New game stuff part 1 (no.1)

Hey guys Fadedsouljoker here back with another gaming post.Today I'm gonna talk abt a little jackpot which i got from Ebay.. I mean seriously this was really lucky.. i got all these for only 58 USD and that is what i call cheap.. Here's the story.. a few weeks ago this auction was posted and I missed it.. The closing price was like 40 USD and i can't believe that i missed it.. well last week it came back cause apparently the guy couldn't pay for the shipping.. So final fantasy fans gather round.. For my first new game stuff post..It's truly for final fantasy fans...

First up is final fantasy Origins

Released for the PS1 in the year 2003.. Remakes of the original final fantasy 1&2 for the PS1 console..Basically FF1 is about the 4 warriors of light and collecting the 4 crystals to save the world and FF2 is about a war where the main heroes have lost their families and want to help in the war... Now whats really cool about this thing is that they added some new cut scenes and artwork.. The graphics have been improved So its really a treat for the final fantasy fans...

Finally the disc

Now the disc is seriously cool.. I think its showing Garland from the Original final fantasy and wow the artwork just blows me away..

For you guys who want to experience this.. FF origins has been released in the PSN store in japan and for you guys who dun own a ps3.. there is still the PSP versions of final fantasy 1 & 2
I think that one has better graphics.. so you should definitely get it

Next up.. Final fantasy 3 for nintendo DS..

For me this is my second copy of this game and the game is just awesome with the job change system and the characters have been remodeled from the original final fantasy 3 released only in japan.. Now for those of you who didn't know.. the Final fantasy 3 which was released on the SNES was final fantasy 6 so this is a different game all around.. Highly recommended.. The story again is about 4 warriors of light gaining the crystal's power but its a different story altogether...

A little sidetrack here but i really like the DS's cartridges cause their really small and in that small plastic thing is your game..Which i think is pretty cool

Next up Final fantasy Chronicles

Released for the PS1 in the year 2001.. contains the games final fantasy 4 and Chrono trigger.. I've never played these 2 games before but i've heard from a close friend that it is an awesome game.. Again additional cut scenes were added in these 2 games to enhance the final fantasy experience so its definitely a treat for FF and Chrono trigger fans...

Lastly Final fantasy Anthology for the PS1

Released for the PS1 in the year 2002 i think for this one contains final fantasy 5 &6 including a bonus disc which includes some of the game's music..Again the graphics have been improved.. Adding FMVs inside for some of the cut scenes.. FF5 again is a warrior of light story but different overall..FF6 is woah.. awesome.. seriously should play this if you have not.. It's about a girl named Terra who has the power of magic and her power has many secrets which could be the key to stop the war.. The story for 6 is very engaging and i highly recommend any rpg fan to try this game out..

Today i wanna share some of my favorite game openings..this is just my opinion only so please comment on whats your favorite openings.. why am i sharing this u ask. Its because i feel that game openings make the game awesome when u just inputed the disc inside your console...For me an opening is like a mini trailer before u start the real game cause it gives everything abt the game in in one little mini pack.. an opening usually consist of the games graphics,story,music and characters.. so what better way to know more abt the game then by watching an opening of the game itself..
Ok enough with my rantings.. TOP 3 game openings

3.Kingdom hearts RE:com song:simple and clean remix

Definitely in my list because its just awesome.. I bought my KH final mix and when i popped the re com in i realized that this song sounded better in japanese 10 fold..The scenes also fit well with the song as it shows what happens in the previous kingdom hearts.. seriously this is just plain awesome

2. .hack liminality opening song: edge

Not really a game opening but it was bundled together with the .hack game disc so yeah.. definately one of my favourite openings.. KICKASS music and it shows a little of .hack.. i just had to add this..

1.Tales of destiny 2 opening song :key to my heart

A simple yet meaningful opening. Showing the events of tales of destiny 2. I like this opening because it has a very slow feel to it like its peaceful and it really
has a nice feel to it.. Many have said that this is the worst tales opening but i have to disagree.. watch the scenes as they sync with the music and u will realise that it has one of the best scenes mixed together with the music

Game music of the week

I felt obligated to post something today so i decided maybe i should start of by posting a video of well video game music..So for the first piece of music I'm going to choose today shall be from the game that i have just completed and most probably will be my first review for my gaming blog.. pls open your ears for .hack GU's excellent soudtrack... I would like to give credit for this game excellent music during the avatar battles and boss battles so today i'll introduce a few of the music pieces which i felt was awesome.. top 3

NO.3 HERE I COME ~Inis~

This has to be one of my favourite battle themes.. this occurs in the 2nd volume of .hack GU.. This music gives a sense of madness with the the sound of the xylophone which really will put you in the mood for a battle when ur struggling through it..

No.2 I'm right here

Skeith's theme in .hack GU. Skeith is the avatar of our protaganist in .hack GU.. avatars are like sort of gundams if u want to put it at that.. This is definitely number 2. Listen to the beat of the music.. definitely gives u the feeling that the protagonist is not to be messed with and he is a tough character..RECOMMENDED you watch the cut scene where skeith awakens so that this music has more impact on you

and lastly NO.1 Lost Resolution

Okay it was hard choosing number 1 i wanted to choose the music for the credits but i said in game music right so lost resolution had to be my top. This music occurs in a very emotional part of the game.. Im sure many of you will feel very a bit out of place when u hear this but close your eyes think of the sad moments of your life..you will realize that it suits many of your sad memories.. It is just an excellent song composed to feel sadness.. Truly beautiful... btw i've heard this song has lyrics but seriously i think its good enough without lyrics

So there it is my top 3 list for top .hack GU music.. i think next time i'll do top 5 or 10.. i'm a bit rushed today so i couldn't think of much..
